Fair Park is one of my favorite places on the planet. I have always loved to go to the Texas State Fair, but even going to Fair Park during the off season is wonderful. It is full of beautiful art deco buildings and art work. Every time I go I find something new and frankly, awesome.

We went to shoot Cicelyann's Vogue Bridals there yesterday, and it was all torn up due to some construction. They've been deconstructing (or something) the Cotton Bowl for quite some time, and now they've got some of the roads inside the park all torn up as well. I can't help but feel a bit of concern, but I trust that they will retain the beauty of the original fairgrounds while updating whatever may need to be updated.

Here are a few snaps of the scenery while we were running around yesterday.

Our iconic Ferris Wheel. Even I, with my fear of heights, have ridden it!

Lilypads in the lagoon.

In other news, I am working away on sessions. Becka's Vogue Bridals are polished off and Lyndsey's session is just about finished. After wrapping up my family portraits, I will get to work on finishing up yesterday's sessions!
What else can you have when you have a redheaded pinup? It's got to be hot! Those are the rules. Had fun with Cicelyann running around for her Vogue Bridals session! Here is a glimpse of the goodness yet to come!

Ashley was such a trooper today, braving the already scorching morning sun to try and grab some bridals today. (So was her faithful bridesmaid!) We didn't try and stay out too terribly long, but we did grab some lovely portraits.

Ashley assures me it is safe to post these on the interwebs! If her intended is poking around.. turn back now!

Doesn't she look amazing? By the way, I did not retouch her! She naturally looks THAT gorgeous.

That's all for now.. I will post more later as I work through them. I'm off to another shoot this evening!
As much as they may make us want to pull out our hair, we've only got one family. With three members of my family in the military, it really puts our family gatherings few and far between. My father is soon to be heading to Iraq, and he wanted us to all get together and take some family portraits before he shipped out. So, we came, from far and wide. My father came down from Alaska, one brother from South Carolina, and my littlest brother from Idaho. I knew I was faced with quite the task. Not only did I have to wrangle a bunch of men into a decent family portrait, but I had to be in it as well.

Of course, as you may expect, it wasn't the smoothest sailing in the world. However, we did manage to get a few good snaps. Although they aren't perfect, they are of my one and only family, and that makes them priceless.

From L - R: My brother Robert and his wife Amber, Joshua (the "baby"), my husband Brian, Myself, Jonathan's girlfriend, Svaya, my brother Jonathan (who just recently moved to Dallas!), and my father, Russell.

Tomorrow is a busy, busy day. I've got two sessions lined up with two lovely ladies that I am very excited about! Also, as you can see, I've finally got the blog colors updated to match my snazzy new site look!

Check back evening for a sneak peek of tomorrow's sessions!

Brandi Thompson Photography has come up with custom, one of a kind processing methods available only to our clients. These are Photoshop techniques created by us! Check it out:

Click this image to make it bigger!

We have our beautiful image up top with only basic, or "clean" processing. Obviously, our couple already looks fabulous, so it can't get that much better. However, it's fun to add those special touches to give it that artistic flair. Here is the line up:

1. Rose Colored Glasses - To add that sweet pink tint to a romantic image.
2. Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Punches up the colors for a super saturated image!
3. The Golden Ticket - Adds a sun-kissed look to your photos.
4. Tell it to the Press - An edgy black and white conversion that adds depth and drama.

Be sure to check back for lots more images coming up in the next few days!
I did a session this morning with Lyndsey, who wanted to capture her amazing athletic physique. I have to admit I'm a little jealous ;)

More later!
Whew. I am a busy girl. I've got family in town this weekend, but they're running around so I could get some work down. I decided to take a five minute break in my work to make... a picture post! My favorite thing to do. :)

My hubby and I had an amazing time in Austin. We love Austin and the Cure put on an incredible show! When we got into Austin, we headed straight to Flip Happy Crepes to get some lunch.

We each got a savory and a sweet crepe, and we had already demolished our savory crepes before I thought to get a picture! The savory crepes were downright incredible. We were wowed and totally loved them. My hubby loved his sweet crepe as well. I wasn't in love with mine, but it wasn't terrible. But we had a great experience overall, even if we did have to wait 40 minutes!

A couple more for now..

I was gone all weekend enjoying Austin, my hubby, and the amazing Cure in concert. I've got some photos to share with you all from this weekend, but first, I managed to preview a few of Becka's Vogue Bridals from Friday, and I wanted to share them!

We covered the gamut of styles, from glamorous to adorable, with Becka's amazing smile! She was a lot of fun to work with, and has a great sense of humor.

Dramatic and glamorous!

No time tonight but here's a quickie..

Off to Austin in the AM! Will be chock full of photos when we return.
Nothing to interesting to report today. Hopefully tomorrow evening we'll have a far more fun update! For now, a peek into the backyard jungle.

Then, this weekend we're off to Austin! I am sure I will have lots to report when we get back. :)
I've been wanting to check this place out for a few weeks, and so tonight Brian and I finally ran over there with a few minutes of dusk left to spare so I could snap a few test pictures. They're pretty bad pictures, BUT they do give you a tiny glimpse into the awesomeness that is Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. This place is amazing, and it has TONS of great photo spots!

A shot of the tower!

More of the tower.

This weekend was fun. Sunday we spent at my husband, Brian's, parents house celebrating our nephew's first birthday. We did some eating, swimming and of course, we had some cake.

Couldn't you just eat him up?

Moving backwards in time, Saturday night I spent some time playing with my flash off camera. I love the Hollywood look that this effect gives. My model was very willing to participate!

The dog was less than thrilled to participate! He was far more interested in eating grass. :)

This weekend is going to be chock full of action. We are headed down to Austin on Saturday morning for my honey's birthday, and then we are seeing the Cure in concert on Sunday night! Saturday we plan on eating at Flip Happy Crepes when we get into town. We saw them on Throwndown with Bobby Flay (total Food Network junkies) and we decided that next time we went down to Austin we had to check them out. I'll be sure to post a review!

Today I met with a lovely couple who's wedding I will be photographing on August 30th. I will also be doing S's bridals, and I can't wait! Stay tuned for those updates.. :)
I gave the site a little overhaul with some new colors and a few tweaks here and there.

Take a look!
